LAUNCHING CEREMONY OF THE CONTEST “NUCE INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY” 2021 OF HANOI UNIVERSITY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING – NUCE-INTECH 2021

On April 22, 2021, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) organized the Launching Ceremony of the contest “NUCE Innovation and Technology” 2021 – NUCE-InTech 2021.

Present at the Launching Ceremony was the distinguished guest: Mr. Nguyen Manh Hao – General Director of AMES Holding. On behalf of HUCE, there was the presence of: Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Hoang Giang – Vice-Rector; Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Viet Phuong – Director of the Department of Science and Technology; M. Eng. Bui Quang Trung – Director of the Department of Political Affairs and Students Management; M. Eng. Ngo Kim Tuan – Secretary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; MSc. Nguyen Trung Luan – President of the Students’ Union; together with representatives of leaders of Faculties, Departments, representatives of companies and students.

The contest “NUCE Innovation and Technology” 2021 is abbreviated as NUCE-InTech 2021. This is the first time that HUCE organizes this contest with the desire to find startup ideas of students studying at the university, thereby incubating, accompanying and connecting their ideas, thus help them continue to perfect such ideas towards the goal of realizing them in the future. Start-up ideas are encouraged to be associated with initiatives for the community, or have high practical value. With that in mind, the Contest equips all candidates with knowledge, skills and experience in starting a business through training sessions, group discussions, and face-to-face discussions with mentors. Through the process of participating in the competition rounds, students will better understand startup activities, understand the development process and the stages required for a startup idea to become potential projects, bringing values ​​to self, community and society.

 

Speaking to launch the contest, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Hoang Giang – Vice-Rector of the University said that NUCE-InTech 2021 is an interesting playground and practical experience through which promote the spirit of entrepreneurship of students and equip students with knowledge and skills about entrepreneurship during their study at the University. The competition creates a favorable environment to support students to form and realize startup ideas and projects, contributing to creating jobs for students after graduation, supporting investment, connection with businesses, and capital funds under the Project 1665 “Supporting students to startup by 2025” signed by the Prime Minister on October 30, 2017, and assigned to the Ministry of Education and Training to be responsible for implementation. Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Hoang Giang hoped that the contest would receive enthusiastic support from businesses and students.

At the Ceremony, in addition to conveying the messages and rules of the Contest, the students were also able to hear Mr. Nguyen Manh Hao, General Director of AMES Holding, share his experiences on the path of entrepreneurship to the young generation. Furthermore, Mr. Hao and the lecturers in the Organizing Committee answered the concerns and questions of the students about startup issues, as well as about the NUCE-InTech competition.

1. Rules of Contest

The Contest consists of 2 rounds

Round 1: Faculty level

Teams build and develop innovative ideas, and submit an application to the Faculty (with provided application form). Faculties set up a review committee to select teams to participate in the 2nd round.

Round 2: University level

After receiving the list from the faculties, the University will set up a Preliminary Review Board. The 10 best teams selected through the preliminaries will advance to the final round.

The University will invite experts on entrepreneurship and innovation from inside and outside to train and guide the teams in order to upgrade the contest products towards entrepreneurship and contribute useful solutions.

Contestants:

Contestants are students who have been studying at HUCE, and students from other universities.

Format of Contest:

Team competition; each team can compete with a maximum of 5 members and a minimum of 2 members; each student only participates in one contest topic (one team); each team must not exceed 50% of members outside of HUCE.

Field of Contest:

Products participating in the NUCE-InTech 2021 aim to solve community and social problems in all fields related to innovation and creativity to realize the 17 Sustainable Development Goals in Vietnam proposed by the United Nations (SDG 17).

2. Awards

01 First Prize: 30 million VND plus Certificate (The University will support the cost for upgrade, communication and commercialization of the product to the last step);

02 Second Prize: 5 million VND plus Certificate per prize;

03 Third Prize: 2 million VND plus Certificate per prize.
